LSU study on churches and disaster relief

Churches were successful in helping with recovery after Hurricane Katrina, according to a study from Louisiana State University. Surveys distributed to evaluate response showed that churches were among the most immediate responders and during the first days of disaster, were the primary caregivers for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
